What's Tom SFF?

Bots n' Bards is a blog where I post reviews for Sci-Fi & Fantasy (SFF) serials and book series.

My name is Tom Aspo. I enjoy reading very long SFF fiction the most and wish to promote it online. There are great serials out there that are truly exceptional but don't get enough attention.

The purpose of this blog is to share with you long fiction I enjoyed reading so they get on your radar.

What the future holds

Bots n' Bards (BNB for short) will soon become a collaborative Sci-Fi & Fantasy webzine. What does that mean, really?

It means that you (and others like you) will get to decide what's published here. Registration will be free and you'll be able to publish blog posts and book reviews on the site at your own discretion.

What's the point?

There are hundreds upon hundreds of websites dedicated to authors, books, movies, tv shows, games, etc. So what need do we have for one more? While it's true there are A LOT of sites dedicated to our favourite genre, it is also true it takes us A LOT of time to stay informed about SFF news and books.

BNB's purpose is to become the place where you will be able to access any SFF information deemed relevant by you and your peers. We are not trying to compete with authors, bloggers, publishers, magazines, in fact we are here to work alongside them and support them.

Where does the name come from?

Bots represents the Sci-Fi aspect, Bards the Fantasy component. Or Bards represent authors, while Bots stand for readers. Or both. Whatever you prefer (-:

What BNB is not:

  • it is not a wiki; you can't edit the entire webzine's content, just your own
  • it is not a place for trolls; in fact content published by trolls will be taken down
  • it is not a paid webzine; it is 100% free to use and will remain so

Why you should join and contribute

There are many reasons why you might want to join and contribute, among which:

  • to stay informed about SFF news worth knowing about
  • to find books others just like you loved reading
  • to promote your own books
  • to review books from authors you follow
  • to post updates from your own site or blog
  • just because (you don't really need a reason after all)

You wish to do more?

You are welcome to contribute any way you want to. You can moderate forums, check on published content, organise events, develop new features for the site, etc. In fact if you'd like to do more just let us know.

If you wish to suggest an idea, request new features, report a bug or inappropriate content, please contact us at hello (at) botsnbards.com.
